Publication Ethics

Last updated: 13 October 2026

Overview

Author services sit between researchers, journals and publishers, and they only add value when everyone involved can trust them. This page explains the ethical standards ELEVENTHBIT R&D COMPANY LLC follows when we edit manuscripts, prepare figures and help authors get ready to submit. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions.

We use the published guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the European Association of Science Editors (EASE) and Good Publication Practice (GPP) as the benchmark for our work. We are not a member of these organizations; we follow their guidelines because journals and publishers expect authors, and the people who help them, to do the same.

In Short: You write your research and remain its sole author. We improve language, clarity and presentation. We never change your data or findings, write content for you, submit on your behalf or promise publication.

Table of contents

1. Authorship and editorial support

2. Originality and plagiarism

Plagiarism is one of the most serious breaches of publication ethics. We work only on original writing by the authors, in which any use of other people's words or ideas is properly quoted and cited.

3. Data integrity and access

4. Duplicate and concurrent submissions

We do not support publishing essentially the same research in more than one journal, or submitting the same manuscript to several journals at the same time. Our journal selection reports are designed to help you choose one journal to submit to at a time.

5. Acknowledging our support

COPE, ICMJE and EASE guidance asks authors to acknowledge people who provided writing or editorial assistance. We encourage you to acknowledge EleventhBit where the guidelines or your journal require it, and we suggest wording for each service in the table below. On request, we can also provide an editing certificate confirming the service we provided.

6. Disclosure and conflicts of interest

We remind authors to disclose any financial or personal relationships that could be seen as a conflict of interest, as required by their target journal. EleventhBit has no financial relationship with any journal or publisher, and our journal recommendations are made without publisher or regional bias.

7. Research involving people

If your study involves patients, volunteers or identifiable personal information, we remind you that it may need ethics committee approval and informed consent, and that these must be reported in the manuscript as the journal requires. Please make sure any data you send us is properly anonymized.

8. What we do not do

9. Students and assessed work

Many universities set their own rules on editing of student work. If your document will be assessed, such as a thesis or dissertation, check your institution's rules and get any permission you need from your supervisor before requesting a quote. For assessed work we limit our service to language and formatting corrections, and we follow any restrictions you or your institution tell us about.
