1. What language editing covers
- Grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Word choice, sentence clarity and readability.
- US English spelling and conventions, with consistent terminology and style throughout the document.
- Edits are made with tracked changes and comments, so you can see every change and choose which to accept. You receive a tracked copy and a clean copy.
2. Your content stays yours
- All decisions about the content of your document belong to you.
- We never add, remove or change your ideas, arguments, facts, figures or conclusions.
- EleventhBit staff never take part in the authorship of your work.
3. Original writing only
We edit only original writing by you, in which any use of other people's words or ideas is properly quoted and cited.
- We do not check documents for plagiarism or provide similarity reports. Checking originality is your responsibility.
- We will not knowingly edit or rephrase copied text.
- If our editors notice text that appears to be copied without attribution, we will point it out so you can quote and cite the source or rewrite it in your own words.
- If a document is largely copied from other sources, we return it so you can replace that text with your own writing before we start.
- We will not help disguise copied or AI-generated text to get past plagiarism or AI-detection checks.
4. What we do not do
- We do not write, ghost-write, rewrite or "humanize" content, or complete work, for anyone to present as their own.
- We do not create, collect, analyze or interpret data or results.
- We do not provide or sell authorship.
- We do not offer publication, journal selection, journal submission or publishing services of any kind, and we do not contact publishers, editors or reviewers on your behalf.
- We do not guarantee any outcome from an edited document, such as a grade, an approval or a decision made by anyone else about it.
- We do not upload your documents to public AI tools that use submitted content for training.
5. Personal information in your documents
Please do not send us personal information about other people unless it is needed for the edit. If a document contains personal data about other people, you are responsible for making sure it is properly anonymized and that you are allowed to share it with us. See our Privacy Policy.
6. When we decline or stop work
We may decline or stop an order if it would break this policy, for example if we are asked to write content, or if a document appears to be largely copied or AI-generated. If we decline before work starts, you receive a full refund. If we stop partway through, you are refunded for the work not done, as set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
